  4.     DIED. Jerome ("Doc") Pomus, 65, legendary rock-'n'-roll
  5. lyricist; of lung cancer; in New York City. A native of
  6. Brooklyn, Pomus teamed with composer Mort Shuman to pen his
  7. first major hit, A Teenager in Love, in 1959. The two also
  8. wrote such classics as Save the Last Dance for Me and This
  9. Magic Moment for the Drifters. Their magic continued with Elvis
  10. Presley's Little Sister and Surrender.
